Overview of the Office

The Philippine Normal University-Publication Office (PNU-PO) is the publishing hub of the University. It highlights the University’s mandate as the National Center for Teacher Education to produce innovative, humane teachers, competent educational leaders and proficient research scholar by publishing academic and trade books and scholarly journals – in both print and electronic editions.

Mission

The PNU-PO pursues to revitalize the educational mandate of the Philippine Normal University as the National Center for Teacher Education by publishing: (1) specialized and peer­ reviewed educational research and (2) textbooks and learning materials for undergraduate and graduate courses. These publications are carried out in the spirit of improving scholarship, nurturing scholarly discussions, and inspiring scholarly participation in public fora with the end goal of sustaining and spreading the positive attitude towards change in the society. The PNU-PO will ensure to take up the challenge of the 21st century age and engage in the latest technology in the preservation, production, and dissemination of intellectual products.

 Vision

The PNU-PO envisions itself as the University Center of knowledge creation, production and dissemination in both the national and international domain through learner’s material, books, and journal publication. It acts as the key channel of ideas reaching out to worldwide readership in the hope that readers will be able to utilize knowledge and ideas on Teacher Education for the betterment of the society in general and the Philippines in particular.

Paz earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education (Physics) at the De La Salle University, Manila. Her research interests are in Science Education, (Physics, Math, Biology, and Environmental Science) Cultural Studies in Science Education, Indigenous knowledge, Gender Education, pre-service and in-service teacher professional development.

JIRICH P. BALDEMORO
Administrative Aide IV

Jirich is the Administrative Aide IV at the Publication Office of the University. He serves as the overall curator of all the administrative works of the unit. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Eulogio ”Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology.
